Our Team

John B. Parker

Our initial founder, John Parker, is currently an Emergency Medicine Intern at Piedmont Macon. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Biomedical Sciences before attending medical school at Medical College of Georgia’s AU/UGA Medical Partnership Campus. Between his third and fourth years of medical school, John completed a Master of Public Health degree at UGA, with a concentration in Disaster Management. His primary fields of interest include emergency medicine, disaster management, water treatment, and public health. His personal website can be found here.

Lee Brackman

Lee recently graduated from UGA’s School of Public Health with an MPH in Environmental Health Science through the school of Public Health. He also holds a B.S. in Biology (Chemistry Minor) from Catawba College. His research highlights include genetic analysis of microbial communities in wild yeast isolation and exploration of glucose transporters in the gut. Additionally, Lee has practical experience in water filtration and relationships amongst the hiking community from a 2019 thru-hike of the entire Appalachian Trail. He also recently finished a thru-hike of the 3,000 mile long, Continental Divide Trail in September of 2021!

Stephen Simmons

Stephen has extensive experience in sales, product development, and marketing, with a diverse background of business experience. After receiving a BBA in Marketing from UGA’s Terry College of Business, Stephen used his entrepreneurial talents to start several companies. Stephen possesses excellent coordination and troubleshooting skills, a high work ethic, and is extremely dedicated to successful and complete execution of projects and tasks. He has managed high-intensity projects ranging in size and scope.  In his free time, Stephen enjoys playing bass guitar, fishing, traveling, and most importantly, spending time with his wife and two beautiful daughters.

James Taylor

James is the owner of Atlanta Pro AV (APAV). Using his background as a professional touring musician, he developed an audio visual company that specializes in live production, integration, and design for corporate clients. He has been contracted by several institutions of higher learning (Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, etc…) as a technology solutions provider. James has recently gained an entrepreneurial spirit and is happy to be a member of the PurLyte team.
